Newspaper articles on the "The Miracle Worker"

The Miracle Worker-a film based on Helen Keller's childhood (2016./17.)

There are certain reasons why everyone should watch The Miracle Worker, a biographic film about Helen Keller, based on her autobiography "The Story of My Life". First of all, it won 2 Academy Awards and was acclaimed by critics. It tells us the story of Helen Keller, a blind, deaf and mute woman who overcame impossible obstacles. But her teacher Anne makes an even bigger role in the film. She somehow managed to teach Helen how to speak, write, and do many other things people would usually think of as impossible to be done by a person with a serious handicap. Without Anne, Helen would never become what she became - a teacher herself who taught many people around the world. We can surely describe that as impressive, and even  more than that. I'd strongly recommend watching this film. It's a very touching story with an important message - you can do anything if you want to, and all your dreams can come true. I think Anne truly is a miracle worker because only rare would manage to do what she did.

Helen Keller was a real miracle child who learned how to speak even before she reached the age of 2. But a high fever left her blind, deaf and mute. All of her talents were gone and her only hope was Anne Sullivan who already did the impossible before. With her help, Helen learnt how to speak and read. This film might teach us how everything is possible if we put enough effort into our work. I recommend this movie to everyone, especially to those who have low self-esteem issues, because someone tells them they can't do anything. Helen can actually teach us how we need to fight. Even if the hardest thing is to keep trying our best, we mustn't do the easiest thing - to give up. Heroes come in all shapes and sizes!

Helen Keller is one of the best movies which talks about not giving up in life, to be patient, and how to be a hardworker. The movie tells us about a little girl who is blind, deaf and mute, but with the help of an amazing teacher Anne Sullivan she will get through all of that. This movie is made for all people, you just need to watch it once and you will learn a lecture that will follow you for the rest of your life. One of the reasons this movie is so good is that this is a true story, based on Helen's real life. This isn't that type of movie that is made up by someone and it's really useful for insecure people who don't believe in their abilities.

Today's film recommendation is a must-see. The movie is called "The Miracle Worker" and it talks about Helen and her life struggles. Helen is a child that was left deaf, blind and mute after a fever. With the help of her teacher, Ms Sullivan, she overcame her disabilities and learnt how to read and write. Helen grew up and became a spokesperson. She educated people all over the world and became an inspiration to many. The movie has won an Oscar Award. It's a movie inspired by a true story.

The film The Miracle Worker is about a girl Helen Keller who was left deaf, blind and mute after a high fever at the age of 2. She lived with her parents who didn't know how to help her. They spoiled her. One day they invited Anne Sullivan to be her teacher and to help Helen. Anne was very patient. She noticed that she couldn't teach Helen in her parents' house. She asked to be separated and alone with Helen. Helen's parents gave her 2 weeks. She knew it wasn't enough, but she accepted. She taught Helen many words, but she didn't know how to explain to her what they meant. When Helen's parents came back again and took her home, Helen got back to the old routine. Anne didn't want to give up and she wanted to teach Helen what words meant. Eventually Helen understood the meaning of the words and with the help of her teacher she learnt how to read, speak and write. The film is very interesting and I would recommend it to everyone. Helen's story inspired millions of people because she overcame almost impossible obstacles.

This is a story of a girl Helen Keller who was deaf, mute and blind. Her parents spoiled her. She could get whatever she wanted. They were trying to help her, but on the wrong way. The teacher Anne Sullivan helped them a lot. She was a half-blind woman. At the beginning it seemed that there was no hope for Helen, but then the teacher taught her to repeat some words. Helen knew how to show words, but she didn't understand them. The teacher said to her parents that she needed to be alone with Helen for 2 weeks. Helen learnt to eat by herself and the meaning of the words. In the end Helen became a spokesperson. She was an inspiration for many people and gave lectures around the world.

The film "The Miracle Worker" is based on a true story. It is about a girl named Helen Keller who was blind, deaf and mute and her teacher Anne Sullivan. Through the whole movie Anne is trying to teach Helen words by letting her touch objects which she would "spell" on Helen's open palm. At the end of the movie Helen figured out everything because she touched water and Anne spelled it to her. The movie is very inspiring and I would advise everyone to watch it. The famous quote from the movie is "Feeling pitty for someone is waste of energy!"

Essays on the the theme:  Good and bad points about having a mobile phone

In this essay I will write about good and bad sides of mobile phones. Mobile phones are used so much in our lives today.

Good sides of mobile phones are that they are an easy way to communicate between people. Some mobile phones ca be connected to the Internet which allows us to communicate with people all over the world at any time of day or night. Mobile phones are very practical, so we can carry them with us wherever we go. If you are in trouble you can always call for help.

Mobile phones have bad sides, too. Bad sides are that they send X-rays and they can cause cancer. Today even younger kids use mobile phones which sometimes cause addiction. Some mobile phones are too expensive and you can lose too much money. If you are clumsy and your mobile phone drops into water and then you want to fix it, it will cost you a lot of money.

My opinion is that mobile phones have more good sides only if we handle them properly.

Written by: Marko Nenadić, 7.c

Hi, I'm going to talk about good and bad points of having a mobile phone.

The good side of mobile phone is that you can communicate with anyone who  has it. That is very important because if you are in trouble or you need a quick drive you can call a friend or parents. Today, we have a large number of applications for mobile phones: GPS, world clock, lots of games… Also, you can go on Internet.

The bad side is that it's small and you can lose it easily or it can be stolen. Some of them are too expensive. Also, they radiate and you can get ill.

So, in my opinion they are very useful and I'm glad to have one.

Written by: Lovro Barišić, 7.c

One of the wonders of the modern world is the mobile phone. It is important for communication. People either love it or hate it.

Mobile phones are useful because you can always get in touch with your family and friends. They are portable and easy to use. But they can be annoying too, because anyone can reach you at any time. They are bad for your health and kids use it at school.

In my opinion mobile phones are useful because you can communicate easily and quickly but they can be bad too, because they are bad for your health and some kids can be crazy about them.

Written by: Dario Demonjić, 7.a

Are mobile phones good or bad? We don't know but people all over the world have them. I'm going to write some of their good and bad points.

I think the best point is that they are useful (handy) and communication is easy  and quick because you can always get in touch with other people. Also, they are good because if you don't have an alarm clock your mobile alarm can wake you up and you can't miss an important meeting or one of the classes. Mobile phones are so useful in emergency.

Like all devices mobile phones have bad points. One of them is that anyone can reach you and you don't have any privacy. One of the worst things is that people can be crazy about them, but also they aren't good because they send X-rays and sometimes they are reason for getting brain tumours.

In my opinion you should have mobile phone but be careful, if you become crazy about them your phone bills would be so high. So, think about it!

Written by: Zrinka Kalođera, 7.a

What do I think about mobile phones?

Well, it's good to have a mobile phone in emergency cases and you can always get in touch with someone. Mobile phones make you safe and make life easier. But who wants long conversations and that everyone can reach you at any time? I believe nobody and is ti OK to use them at school and spend a lot of money just for talking on the mobile phone?

In my opinion mobile phone comes in handy and is useful but we shouldn't think that it is important to have the latest model.

Written by: Mihaela Krmek, 7.a

Everybody has a mobile phone? Am I right?

They have a lot of good points. You can always get in touch with your family. You can use it in emergency cases, when you're in trouble you can call anyone at any place and any time. Mobile phones are cheap, quick and easy to use. And if it is a better model you can use it as a computer. All in all they are very useful.

But sure, they have bad points too. They are annoying, I hate to listen to everybody's conversations on a bus, in the street , everywhere! They are bad for health, they send X-rays and you can get brain tumour. You can spend a lot of money if you talk too much.

In my opinion kids under 8 don't need to have a mobile phone, but older kids and business people should have it. They make my life easier.

Written by: Vita Varezić, 7.a

Ever asked yourself „Is it good or bad to have a mobile phone?“

As a matter of fact, there are good but also some bad points about having mobile phones. For example, you can always reach your friend when you need them wherever you are. They can save your life if you're in some kind of trouble, you can call the police. Mobile phones are small and compact so you can put them in any pocket. Business partners also need mobile phones to set up a meeting.

Since I mentioned some good points, I should tell bad points too. Mobile phones are sometimes very annoying because they keep ringing. It is also rude to listen to other people's conversations when you are on a bus or a tram. Also, you don't have any privacy because anybody can reach you at any time and any place.

In my opinion mobile phones can't be described as „good“ or „bad“ because they are good for many things, but they're bad for some things too!

Written by: Petar Bubica, 7.a

Hi, my name is Zvonimir and I', going to tell you something about mobile phones. What do you think about mobile phones? Here is my opinion.

We all know that mobile phones are handy, you can put them in your pocket or your bag. You can talk or write text messages to someone and it's really cheap. When you're bored you can also play games on your mobile phone or you can just listen to music. Mobile phone can be used as a camera too. They make our lives easier.

But, are they really that great? When you have a mobile phone you are always available. Is that really good? You don't have any privacy, mobile phones can be really annoying. Some people are real addicts and those people can also be kids. They use mobile phones in school. Sometimes people even fight over mobile phones or they steal them.

Are mobile phones really good? In my opinion they are, but it's yours to decide.

Rattlesnakes eat mice, rats, small birds and other small animals. Baby snakes are ready to go as soon as they are hatched. Newborn rattlesnakes don't have functional rattles until they shed their skin for the first time. Great white shark

The great white shark, also known as White Death, is a large shark found in the surface waters in all oceans. Males reach maturity at 3.5-4 m, and females at 4.5-5 m. They eat fish, dolphins, seals... The best selling novel „Jaws“, as well as the subsequent film by Steven Spielberg, provided the Great White Shark the image of a „man eater“ in the public mind. In reality, humans aren't prey they would seek for to eat, but they are still the most dangerous species of sharks in the world. They could be found mosly in the warm waters near Australia.

Essays on the theme: Good and bad sides of mobile phones

Are mobile phones good or bad? In our time we all use mobile phones every day and they are very useful but they aren't good for our health.

Well, I think mobile phones are great, you can listen to music, take photos, communicate with your friends any time you want. Also, you can use the Internet and play games. So, it's lot of fun too. But, they aren't good for our health because of their radiation. They are very expensive and we spend a lot of money on paying bills. Sometimes we can become addicted to them and that's not good. Also, it's not good for small children to have mobile phones because then they stop learning and playing with friends, they just play games on their mobile phones. When you have a mobile phone you are cool, but also you can be rejected because you don't have the latest model. Sometimes many people use mobile phones like a walking alarm but it's better to have a watch because mobile phones can just turn off.

In my opinion there are definitely more bad than good points, but that doesn't mean that having a mobile phone isn't useful or good. It means that we mustn't use mobile phone on an unappropriate and wrong way.

To have or not to have a mobile phone? Well, mobile phones are bad for health, but they are also useful.

Some people hate mobile phones because they have to listen to boring conversations on the buses or trams, even in the restaurants. Someone hates the idea of being available all the time because he doesn' have privacy any longer. OK, that's all true, but they are useful too. If you are a parent you can always get in touch with your kid. Or, if someone gets in trouble he can call a friend or parents. Of course, parents must set rules for their kids about using mobile phones. For example:

Don't speak longer than a minute or a minute and a half on the mobile phone!

Leave your mobile phone at home when you go to school or church!

You must meet your friends instead of talking to them on the phone!

And finally, I think mobile phones are cool and useful, but you must be careful not to get addicted to them.

What do we know about mobile phones? Do we know what are good and bad sides of having mobile phones? Well, I'm here to find out something more about that.

Some of the good sides are for example: We need them to communicate with other people, especially with our parents because when we talk with our parents they know where we are, so they don't worry much, or when we are in trouble we can call for help, or ask for homework, or just hear with someone who is far, far away from us. We can set alarm too, to wake us up when we go to school early. But, on the other hand, mobile phones can be bad for us. For example: mobile phones are radio-active so when we are close to them for a long time we can get a headache. Then, when we are in class, we often forget to turn off our mobile phones, so they sometimes start ringing and that is not OK because that is against school rules and it's not fair to our teachers, too. Some kids want the latest model of mobile phones, but parents can't afford that so they start arguing and that is very bad.

And finally, to round this topic up, I think mobile phones are useful and good, but in small quantities.

Are mobile phones unhealthy? Do we really need them so much? Why do we need the latest mobile phone?

Mobile phones are good because we can always be in touch with our parents and friends. We can listen to music, take photographs and go on Facebook with our mobile phones. But mobile phones are very bad for our health. We can easily get addicted to them. Kids study less and get bad marks at school.

In my opinion mobile phones are good because we can always reach our parents and talk with our friends, but we shouldn't get too addicted to them. We should turn mobile phones off when we are in class, we should know where talking and texting limits are.

Are mobile phones so useful?

They are useful because you can call for help when you are in trouble and you can send text messages. You can also take photos and listen to music. But, they have many bad sides. They can cause brain and eyes damage. They make people buy the latest models. People also spend a lot of money on them and kids waste their time playing games on them and then they don't study. There are many more bad sides which I didn't write.

In my opinion  mobile phones are not so bad only if we use them in a real need.
